Anthony Edward Dozier Obituary
Anthony Edward Dozier, affectionately known as Tony by his family and friends, was born on January 15, 1962, to the late Charles Dozier and Beverly Naomi Hamilton.
Throughout his life, Tony was known for having multiple skills and talents. Prior to his teenage years, he learned to draw and paint from his father. He was naturally musically inclined and shared his talents while playing the drums, guitar, and bass. Later in life, he became an exceptional motor vehicles operator with over 40 years of experience, traveling locally and nationally. He excelled in carpentry work; there was nothing his hands couldn’t fix. His greatest academic achievement was returning to school to obtain his high school diploma. Tony obtained his diploma from Penn Foster School in Scranton, Pennsylvania on October 23, 2023. He was extremely proud if this achievement. He was committed to reaching for the stars and would not stop until he achieved the things he desired the most.
Tony married Lilian Okan on July 3, 2022, together they shared a beautiful life. Their union was filled with the presence God, love, mutual respect, and compassion for others. Anyone who knew Tony knew he had a warm spirit; he was caring, funny, and loving. His memory will live on forever through all the people he touched with his presence. Yet while there is no question that he was loved by all, he was most importantly loved by God. His faith in God was unshakeable.
Tony leaves behind his loving wife, Lilian Dozier, and is survived by his five children: his only son, Nikia (Nick) Chism, four daughters (from oldest to youngest) Shavonna Dozier, Tanga Bailey (son-in-law, Justin), Anthonia (Toni) Dozier, and Shelby Dozier. In addition to numerous family and friends, he leaves behind two siblings, April Bey and Michael Dozier. As part of his legacy, he will also be remembered fondly by his grandchildren: (Nick) Tyanna, Nashaun, Andre, and Ahmari; (Shavonna) Shaheem, Nasir, Nanya, Jermyne, and Giavonna; (Tanga) Nicole, and Justin Jr.; (and Anthonia) Zayde, Zayanna, and Zayar.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to all for their many kind acts of compassion and caring. They leave you with this word of comfort from their Savior:
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light”
– Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
